Having arrived with one credit card and being a commercial yacht master was happy to have £2,000 authorized on credit card not anticipating any damage, the card would not authorize even after 3 calls to the UK confirming card was OK, Staff on site stated this did occur and did we have another card to use, other than a switch maestro which they would not accept. Only option was to pay 100 euro’s to then have a 300 euro liability, we had no option. after a weeks sailing returned after using same credit card to pay for fuel with no issues asked for the 100 euro’s back as this was an expense not accounted for, and boat not damaged. After contact with our agent Bare boat sailing holidays, as it was a technical fault not of our doing they will not be paying us the 100 euro’s back. Appears we are responsible for technical issues or is this another way to obtain a further 100 euro’s from customers. We will not be using Bare boat sailing or Sun charter again as they seem to think issues with their systems should be paid for by their customers.
