Agency:

Selection and execution of the charter of a Lagoon 380 in Greece worked out well over Pitter Yachting in Hartberg as agency, like always without difficulties, friendly, courteous, communicative, fast, competent, etc. advisable.

The charter company and the base :

The Athenian Yachts Enterprises SA has a relatively large base in Lefkas and allocated nearly a full bar near the supermarket in 2010. Service was friendly and competent, but our desire for an earlier acquisition of the boat was completely pointless. So we spent about 6 hours in a cafe while the ship was already there. We then assisted the cleaning crew so that we could take over the boat yet in the light and could go to dinner. We got the right bed linen and towels later.

The ship:

We were somewhat surprised, that we climbed a Moorings L 3800 that looked like a Lagoon 380 instead of a Lagoon 380. The charter company then explained to us that Moorings is a charter company that brands different types of boats with the name Moorings. They all have a blue and red pattern on the lazy bag and Moorings and a number usually 10 times the name of the original type is written on it instead of the actual name of the manufacturer. So you find Bavarias, Beneteaus, Lagoons, Leopards and many more today as Moorings. Behind Moorings there stands the german Mariner Travel GmbH (and somehow TUI too) which is considered to be one of the world's leading charter companies in the premium area. However, it was remained unclear why this ship is at Athenian Yachts Enterprises SA.

The equipment was close to the standard and straightforward, except for a small fan per cabin, there was unfortunately no additional equipment such as sun wings, cooler, longer anchor chain, additional land line etc etc. The maintenance condition was generally OK. We donated a couple of split pins, repaired the cockpit lighting and bought a matching carabiner for the bridle. We did not understand the control of the water tank until the end of the trip, should be explained in more detail. There was some growth among the ship in 2010, as if the ship had stood for some time. The lodge was very overgrown and went to about 50%. The depth gauge was also grown and had dropouts as soon as there was dense seagrass on the ground. Since, unfortunately, there was no real land line, we always had to link two mooring lines together.

Sails, rigging, engines, control system, etc. were ok.
