A good choice for some easy sailing

Just back home after a week as skipper of the S/V “Summer Star”. We were a group of 6 people (3 couples), and half of the crew had no sailing experience.

Summer Star is an easy boat, which immediately delivers familiarity and trustfulness.

Under sails the boat is stable and easy to conduct (alas, it isn’t a fast boat, and you will need lots of wind in order to sail, especially with stern winds), the engine is powerful and reliable. Docking the Summerstar is quite easy, even if control in reverse is hard.

Equipment is good (even if a little old) and functional; I really appreciated having a very long full-chain anchoring line, but the windlass needs some little mainteinance. The dinghy needs to be replaced, but its outboard is new and very powerful.

In my opinion, Summer Star is a good choice if you want to relax, to enjoy some slow sailing: the level of value-for-money delivered is absolutely high.
